How to Market on Craigslist For Free

Marketing costs for your MLM online can be ridiculously high. Well, actually marketing costs in general, online and offline, can be intimidating for anyone starting to market their MLM business. So to go with that the general idea is that the more you spend means you will get better and better results.

That is only half true. You can spend $5,000 for PPC advertising, but if your copy is poor, and your call to action is virtually non-existent, you may only profit $2,000. But what if you didn’t have a marketing budget? How could you possibly survive online?

There is hope! You can market your MLM business online for free and make some pretty significant cash.

Craigslist is virtually untouched when it comes to effective MLM marketing. The keyword there is effective. Most network marketers have boring text ads with an uploaded picture of a beach, a successful businessman, or their company logo. The idea is to stick out from the crowd right?

Well, to get noticed and therefore get leads and paying customers keep reading.

1. First you need to create an ad. This is really just any picture that is turned into a link to anywhere. You can create this picture, it can be a corporate banner (with permission), or it is a modified screen shot from a promo video or capture page.

This ad needs to include color, engaging and varying size text, a call to action, and possibly some graphics incorporated into it. Keep in mind this will be saved as one picture.

2. Now you need to host this picture online somewhere so that we can get an IMG code. This can be done on a paid hosting like Hostgator. Or, since we are doing this for free, host it through PhotoBucket.com. After hosting, copy the IMG code and paste it into your Notepad. You will use it later.

3. Next head over to Craigslist. Create a free account by pressing the link in the top right corner. For best results post in the Small Biz Ads. This is a phone-verified account. All Craigslist wants to know is that you are a real person and not an automated SPAMMER.

4. The last step is posting. The title of your ad needs to be catchy. But keep away from SPAM-like headings like, “Make $10,000 Your First Month”. It should be something that creates curiosity. Like addressing a pain they may be feeling. Even grab a headline from a company capture page, web site, or brochure.

Simple, different, effective, eye-catching but only just as long as your copy and call to action are quality. Your target website is a capture page, or really just anywhere you would like your prospects to go.

With this type of posting it makes it so that you will not be tagged for duplicate posts because Craigslist only sees the HTML code, not the content within the code. You are limited to 3 posts per day in the Small Biz section, or unlimited in the General Community section.
